“I told you in my first email that you raised my level of teaching. Your books make me a better teacher. Today I got this email from one of my parents. ‘You are teaching my daughter so many positive attitudes in life, and she is showing such care for the environment. Sometimes I feel my daughter is partly teaching me. Thanks for being such a wonderful teacher!’ This is a parent talking about what your books can do!”
Susan Winter, Teacher, Taipei American School, Taiwan
“When Steve Tiller visits a school, children and adults get more than just a visiting author- they get a motivational speaker! Students at St. John Neumann were not only transported into the magical world of Steve’s books, but they also were inspired by his underlying spiritual message. Steve reaches students on a personal level and gets them to think about who they are and who they might want to become.“

Dear Mr. Tiller,
Just today I went to Borders to get another copy of your book Henry Hump Born to Fly and couldn't find it... Could I order 2 more from you and have you sign it? Both are two boys named Henry... one is my nephew 9 months old and the other is for a good customer of mine who will have their first child in June. The soon to be parents are naming him Henry. I thought I would surprise them with your book.
Let me know and I can send you a check or give you a credit card.

Thank you so much for the email! When I tell Caitlyn you wrote us parents, and show her this email she will be THRILLED!!
I have to let you know I LOVE the book Caitlyn picked out to get! The book was precious, and it means that much more since you signed it! We are keeping it and treasuring it forever and when Cait has kids it will be passed on.....I love to read and I believe that books are very special...I have passed on books to Cait that I had when I was her age, and we will continue the tradition with yours.

When Steve Tiller visits a school, children and adults get more than just a visiting author- they get a motivational speaker! Students at St. John Neumann were not only transported into the magical world of Steve’s books, but they also were inspired by his underlying spiritual message. Written on two levels, younger children hear about caterpillars becoming butterflies and boats being directed and helped by the wind. Older students see the references to spiritual awakenings and how faith works in their lives.
Because bookstores are often confused about where to place Steve’s books (in Children’s Books or Religion?), and because publishers may change an author’s story to suit themselves, Steve has opted to use neither one. Instead, he promotes and publishes his work himself and counts on the people who are touched by his message to spread the good word. Most schools and organizations are happy to do so after one of Steve’s visits that are free of charge!
Steve spoke with SJN students from Kindergarten through the eighth grade and touched each of them. Students were particularly fascinated to learn how a book is printed and assembled, and how both author and illustrator collaborate to complete the writing process. Through stories of his childhood and other life experiences, Steve reached students on a personal level and got them to think about who they are and who they want to become.

Steve,
Thank you so much for your great presentations these past few days and adding value to our International Book Fair (sponsored by the Lovett International Alliance). There was tremendous support for your books, so I hope you were pleased. We will begin processing the orders on Tuesday (the school is closed the next few days for the holiday). I have asked Quincy (head of the bookstore) to save all your Order Forms once she has processed them. Please let us know how we should get them to you. I also asked for a ŇroughÓ time frame for cutting you a check.
I will call you to see what suggestions and feedback you have from the last two days.
Once again, thank you so much for joining us. You came to us highly recommended and you by far lived up to your reputation! Have a blessed holiday. I look forward to speaking to you soon,
Neysa
